Would you like to help make Picture Day run smoothly? We’re looking for one or two volunteers to assist by walking students to meet our photographer. It’s a fun way to be involved, see all the students, and help them feel comfortable on their special day!
Dolphin Dash 2025
Get ready for the Dolphin Dash! We need enthusiastic volunteers to help count laps, hand out water, and cheer on our amazing students. Come join the fun, celebrate their efforts, and be part of our school community excitement!
Open House
Join us for our Open House! Learn more about your student’s daily routine and explore their classroom. Even if you’ve met the teacher before, this is a great chance to see where your child learns, ask questions, and connect with staff and other families. Get a glimpse of the exciting school year ahead!
Parent Coffee Social (Tentative)
Enjoy coffee and treats while dropping off your student. Meet other parents and build connections. Get the latest on our upcoming events, and find out how you can participate this school year!
Meet & Greet
Join us for our Meet & Greet! This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your student’s teacher, explore the classroom, and get familiar with the school environment. Come ready to ask questions, connect with staff, and help your student feel confident and excited for the first day of the school year.
Movie Ticket Fundraiser
Between November 19th (TODAY) - January 5th please consider purchasing movie tickets through Regal Cinemas to support the Alderwood PTA. These ticket bundles make great gifts or can be used as a gift to yourself! A "bundle" of tickets includes 2 movie tickets for a cost of $30 (only 2D movies, no 3D ticket options).
Alderwood PTA will receive 25% of the proceeds. We are hoping to sell 75 ticket bundles during the months that sales are available. If you head to the movies during Thanksgiving to see Moana 2, or maybe you want to give movie tickets as a gift during the holidays - please consider this wonderful opportunity to receive tickets while supporting our school community.

Dolphin Dash 2024
One week until the Alderwood Dolphin Dash, our school’s annual move-a-thon – Friday, Oct 4 12:00-2:30 PM!! Every student will receive an Alderwood t-shirt at the event.
Did you know that the Dolphin Dash is hosted and funded by the Alderwood PTA? Our PTA is made up of volunteers from our school community and is fully funded by local businesses and donors. However, we are looking for your help too if it is something you can provide.
Can you consider donating to the PTA to help support the Dolphin Dash and the t-shirt cost? Perhaps you have a friend or family member that can give? Maybe you can make a post on social media linking to the PTA donation page. Whatever you are able to do is appreciated! Any amount will go directly to support our school community.

Alderwood Meet and Greet and Ice Cream Social
Meet your student’s classroom teacher and tour the school followed by ice cream in the cafeteria.
Bellingham Public Schools Back to School Block Party
School and community partner tables will provide important resources for starting the school year. The event will include signups for Operation School Bell, a program of the Assistance League of Bellingham that supplies new school clothes for eligible families. Child immunizations, sports physicals and haircuts will also be available at no charge.
Food trucks will be onsite providing free lunch alongside a playfield for kids.
Promise-K & Kindergarten Popsicles and Play
Join the Alderwood Promise K and Kindergarten teachers on the playground to ask questions, meet fellow incoming students and have fun!
